Fitzgerald likes that practices are closed to the media this year, if only to protect his three QBs from the daily scrutiny reporters would have generated.
"If I had practice open every day, you guys would over-analyze," he said.
Over-analyze? Geez, coach, this is D1, Big Ten football. You want the fans and media to "over-analyze", because that means they care. What do you prefer, a collective yawn from the fan base?
Fitz is lucky he's not at a "big name" college football program, because he'd get crushed. Sarcasm and secrecy aren't really the best way to deal with questions coming from fans and the media. I guess he's in a good place, because he can get away with that here.
