It's been a grind thus far, but the Wildcats hold a 35-26 advantage opening the second half.

Northwestern has hit seven of their last nine threes after starting 0-for-8 from deep, lead 58-42 with 8:49 to go

And the final score is/was ? Is anyone watching? I couldn't find it on any BTN spillover channels

I like it when we're favored to beat a team by a lot, and then we actually do it. Nice!
I think just about everyone who saw this game would agree it was not an entertaining game to watch. SIU is horrific. We were far from inspired. I don't think there is really anything that can be gleaned from this game other than the fact that we're now 7-1.

I mostly agree. But one minor positive was the play of Olah. He really looked good today offensively, admittedly against pretty bad competition.

A big minus was the defense. Cats play defense with their hands instead of their bodies. All that reaching just results in a parade to the FT line.

And the Sanjay foul was just stupid. Yes, he was fouled first, but geez, he needs to get a grip. This was SIUe, deal with it.

Aw come on...it was only "not entertaining" if you expect everything to go perfect for the 'Cats always. We were not "inspired" but played fine and the game was never in doubt. Olah played well and was way more assertive than he has been in the past couple of games. SIUe is not great, but they played hard and never laid down.

Fewest points allowed along with fewest free throws allowed all season. Not quite the time to make this comment, methinks.

Sanjay foul was not even close to foul. He did not make contact with the SIUe player and that was evident on replay...rules do not allow the refs to rescind a call like that, but they would have if they could. Flop, flop, flop.

Figured that we would see Olah and JvZ on the court together at some time during the season - but still, interesting.

No, it was not entertaining because it was pretty bad basketball. Nothing to do whatsoever with expectations of "perfection" for the Cats "always." I like to watch good basketball, no matter who is playing. There was not a lot of that the other night.

I thought it was entertaining. I always enjoy beating a team by 25 points. Also, liked the way we grinded in the first half when we couldn't hit anything from the outside. As a team that relies on the 3-pointer, we found other ways to score yesterday when the outside shot wasn't falling for anyone. That's a positive to take away. The game wasn't a thing of beauty, but we grinded it out and won easily.

My biggest concern is defensive rebounding. It drives me nuts when we can't grab the defensive board; it did under Carmody, and it does now.
