Well, tonight marks the long awaited return of Scottie Lindsey to the NU lineup. It will be interesting to see what kind of shape he's in. When Pardon was out earlier this season he had a hand injury, which meant he could run and work out with the team, he just couldn't shoot, etc. With Lindsey, he's been idling for the last four games, so expect him to be rusty. We will see how much playing time Collins gives him and how he looks.

I was looking at Rutgers numbers and was surprised to see that they rank third nationally in offensive rebounds per game (14.89) and fifth in rebounding (41.19). You'd figure a team with numbers like that would have a better won-lost record. But then you look at their offensive numbers and see why. They rank last in the Big Ten in scoring, field-goal percentage, 3-point field goal percentage and free throw percentage. If it has anything to do with putting the ball in the basket, they're bad at it.

Hey, Louie, I just found out that Alan Smithee is at the game which means free drinks for anyone who can find him.look for a line of thirsty people in front of a happy looking guy in purple.

Lindsey will start tonight. Gotta admit I'm a little surprised.

Lindsey went 0-2, both 3s, and then sat down in favor of Taphorn after 3:20.

Pardon is doing some work inside with 6 of NU's first 8 points on 2 dunks and a putback.

I hope we put Rutgers away early. No messing around!

NU was 0-7 on 3s before Tap hit one from the baseline to punctuate a 9-0 NU run.

39 to 36 with NU one possession ahead at the half. Curious if we will see Scottie pick up his game in the 2nd half ahead?

This game was supposed to be a lot easier. Rutgers is shooting like contendas, not like a team with 2 conference Ws.

The good news is the team gets better playing close games.

Rutgers has been playing tight games for most of the season. Now it is time for NU to tighten the defense and McIntosh and Lindsey to play well in the second half. sanders is going to chuck it up in the second half.

Defense is not sharp tonight. Rutgers getting uncontested shots. Gettys doing a nice job. I chuckle at him at times but then realize he looks exactly like I did as an athlete in many ways.

And of course Rutgers comes out and shoots very well in the first half. Hopefully they'll be back to normal in the second half.
