EVANSTON-Despite having one former starter retire and another coming off of ACL surgery, Northwestern feels confident about the defensive tackle position.

Story: No worries ($)

Lou, where did you get those player weights? When I checked the NU Sports roster the data was not updated. Encouraging to see how much the D line has bulked up.

From Fitz... but apparently from reading this board Fitz is a huge liar and Dean Lowery is 5'8'' 165 lbs a will be playing punter this year.

I cant see the weights listed but im sure lancaster is up around 295 but with muscle and not fat.

Since you were at practice, does it look like IO (#7) has put on some more weight?

I want to respect the closed practice guidelines but i think fitz nailed it when he said in his video that the program is in the best shape since he has been there. Ive been going to closed practices since fitz has been coach and i dont think they would get upset if i simply said that what fitz said was NOT coachspeak. Im doubly excited. Nuff said.

Thanks. Great to hear since you aren't exactly Polly Purple Kool-Aid when it comes to optimism!

So it is OK to report that Lancaster is 295 but not comment on IO? WTF?

I pretty much went to practice to observe the psyche of the team and see where the leadership was at. Everything else was insignificant to me or secondary of importance. Of course one practice doesnt mean anything but i seen what i had to see and im pretty pumped. Thats all i can say. Sorry.

We will now commence taking this completely out of context and posting different takes on what you have said going into farther and farther extremes away from your original post to the point that we are just making stuff up... and then - in the end - quote you for all of it.

It is a message board after all. :)

i may be one of the biggest polly purples around, dont let my sometimes uncontrolled passion in heartbreaking disappointing seasons fool you. I love these guys and dropped a 4 digit bet with notredame.football that fitz was gonna kick notre dames ass. Fitz delivered so now i have the notredame.football hostage to wildcat nation for 12 months.

Bully for you if you feel that you can measure these things. I'd just as well gauge their readiness based on facial hair.

I've bulked up to 340 lbs now and look like Darryl Brandford in his prime. More like blubbered up. I've lost 20 pounds of muscle, too, so I'll be keeping my spot on the bench or couch nice and warm this season. I wish this was a Polly Purple Kool-aid weight, but sadly it isn't.
