Unfortunately, I'm not courtside at the United Center because I had a Christmas party to go to tonight. Just a few hours ago, they cancelled it. So I am watching from the couch, but that beats making small talk over dinner.

This is a big one tonight, fellas. After letting two good chances for big wins slip away against Butler and Notre Dame, the Cats need this one. FWIW, Seth Davis picked NU.

If this team keeps winning, the city will start to embrace us. Clearly that hasn't happened yet. Great start... especially on defense.

I like the small lineup here. Collins went small after Skelly picked up his second foul.

The Dayton fans are really pissed at the refs, but it hasn't looked terrible. Different on TV?

not too bad, we've gotten away with a few. Lumpkin fouled the guy and both fouls when Skelly driving were ticky tack.

If Nate Taphorn can set his feet, forget it. It's going in.

As Jon Crispin just said, "Maybe it's the Gothic uniforms."

I stand corrected; I guess they were a good idea, after all.

Maybe we got confused... tonight we are playing Chicago State I think.

Cats came to play, Dayton is ice cold thanks to our defense.

Lumpkin is so important to this team. He has improved tremendously. Hit both free throws easily too.

I truly think we're making them look terrible. Our defense is outstanding tonight. And Dayton is one and done every time. We are controlling the boards too! Wow!!

I would like to see NU win the second half of this one. That is win by more than the current 23 point lead.
Actually, I'll just take the win.

Yes, wonderful defense. And I think the refs are doing a very good job - missed one by Lumpkin but they're recognizing straight up defense.
