Today's a nice, slow day to bring this request out. I have been putting together a spread sheet with complete NU football rosters going all the way back to 1970, when as a kid I started getting excited about NU football. That was the year my Dad, a professor at NU, introduced me to Mike Adamle. That was one of the most exciting, memorable events of my childhood, right up there with going to my first Cubs game. A big deal for a 9 year old. And I have bled purple ever since.
So anyway, I am trying to find FULL, official NU football rosters for every season since 1970. It ain't easy - finding them online, anyway. The oldest one I have found is 94. I can't even find a full, official 1995 roster, which seems unbelievable. I have every season since 1994, except for 95, 97 and 2005.
I've tried FEW's old site, and a couple others, and found one or two old rosters there. I have tried NU Archives online. Haven't found any rosters. Obviously, the years before the internet are pretty hard to find. So what I really need is the old media guides. I used to have many of them back to the late 80s, but I gave all of them away when I moved out west a decade ago.
So who's got the goods? Any of you looong time fans/alums still have a media guide collection yourself? Or know a place online that has full rosters, that I haven't found? I'm talking complete, official rosters, preferably with players hometown and high school listed, etc.
Louie, does the football office keep this old stuff? Would they share it?
I'd greatly appreciate anybody's help, and I'd gladly pay anyone who has a media guide collection to make either hard copies or digital ones of rosters that they can send me. Thanks, everybody.
