Doesn't even have a Holy Cross offer......Looks like the Cats are starting to expand to the B list. Verbal Commits reports they have offered 2018 F Ryan Young of New Jersey. If the V-C list is accurate, NU is Young's first P-5 offer.
The guys he was playing against didn't look too small so it is not like he is dominating the Lil Epusions .Looks more skilled, at least in terms of variety of skills, than any of our current bigs. Will need to get stronger, as most do. I was very impressed with the tape.
Reminds me of Walker LambiotteAs a fourth or fifth member of a strong recruiting class, I would be more than happy to land this kid. It appears that he's grown from 6'7" to 6'10" in a year or less and is just starting to grow into his length, so there is still awkwardness. That said, it's evident from the extended highlights that he has some skills that are tough to teach, especially in a big: soft touch from the arc, can put it on the floor and take his man outside, really good court sense/ability to read the floor.
Pretty swift of you.
The guys he was playing against didn't look too small so it is not like he is dominating the Lil Epusions .
Not sure what you mean but I was trying got be supportive of the idea that the competition looked big too. (just in case what I said came off as negative)
Pretty swift of you.
Just as happy as when we landed Johnnie Vassar, or even more so? ;-)Our staff is excellent at talent evaluation and I'd be very happy if we landed this kid now that we offered.
I agree on and like several of the characteristics you cite.it's evident from the extended highlights that he has some skills that are tough to teach, especially in a big: soft touch from the arc, can put it on the floor and take his man outside, really good court sense/ability to read the floor.
Ever watch Larry Bird play? Jumping is overrated.I agree on and like several of the characteristics you cite.
Something I did NOT like was that he doesn't appear to jump very high (based on the video only), or doesn't seem to use his jumping ability much (if he has it). It seems that for the most part he stays within half a foot from the floor throughout the game. Not sure how much of that can be corrected or improved upon...may have something to do with his often facing competition that is significantly shorter than he is.

Sorry, couldn't resist.
Don't disagree with your other comments but do with the quoted part...that line of thinking can be surmised as "our coaches are incapable of making an error" (in talent evaluation)...therefore if they do offer the guy he MUST deserve it....fact is, our coaches (all coaches) can make mistakes...as the specific example JV clearly shows, concerning our coaching staff. Don't get me wrong: this guy can go on to be all-American...or never develop beyond a role player...both are possible whether our coaches have offered or not!!He's a red shirt for sure. But if the coaches offered, odds are there's a lot there.

Damn spell check and autocomplete! It could be that you are a committed, long form troller who is anti NU. Or, you are NU's biggest sports fan. Bother are possible.
