NU overrated? Writer for CBS Sports thinks so

Tom Fornelli from CBS Sports just posted this about NU's ranking.
Evidently he's not a fan....

Overrated -- No. 14 Northwestern: Wildcats coach Pat Fitzgerald started doing some campaigning this week for his team to get an at-large berth to a New Year's Six bowl, as any coach would do for their team. And he has some good selling points, as Northwestern has beaten No. 7 Stanford.

It's just, that's really its only selling point. It has played two other ranked teams in No. 4 Iowa and No. 15 Michigan, and it lost those games 40-10 and 38-0.

That's where my issue with Northwestern's ranking really comes in to play. I just don't understand how the committee can rank Northwestern a spot ahead of Michigan, a team that beat it 38-0. That's not a fluke. That's a straight-up beatdown."

Looks like Tom has failed to accept The Committee's own rules. Margin of Victory is expressly stated to not be a factor in the rankings.

He is correct. It was a beatdown. There are other ways to determine a beatdown. The main one being to watch the game and see a defense absolutely dominate an offense. Maybe he should watch a replay of the NU/Stanford game. Then he could see another beatdown.

I think Stanford goes down this weekend. Their defense is dreadful USC will have a better gameplan on defense this time around.

Tom Fornelli is maybe the biggest prick I've ever came across on the Internet. He's a HUGE NU hater. I write for a website as well (not to toot my own horn but it's a very popular site) and I've came across many, many a-holes, but he might be the biggest out of all of them. We call guys like him "Twitter eggs". He's a faceless know it all. His writing is garbage and full of personal bias
