Tre Demps looks like a senior who doesn't want his career ending any time soon, scoring 19 points in a variety of manners as he led the Wildcats to a 42-27 halftime advantage.

47-27 at the under-16. Brandon Taylor has three turnovers in a little over four minutes of the second half, and Penn State has missed its first four shots after halftime.

We let them back in the game. Demps is forcing shots again.

Penn State trims a once-20 point lead to 50-38 as Northwestern has hit only 3 of its last 11 shots. The Lions hit three straight 3s, then Taylor hit a difficult shot despite solid defense to cut into the Wildcats' momentum

TRAVEL!

Turnovers are killing the Wildcats, and the lead is down to 53-45 after Penn State converts a steal into a fast-break layup

Survived to keep themselves in play. They just don't know how to handle a lead.

Actually thought they handled the lead OK. The other team almost always makes a run if they have a pulse; but they couldn't get it closer than 4.

I'll take it.

Yes, I'll take it too, we let up bigtime but never relinquished the lead. As cold as Demps was in the 2nd half, that 3 point play when we were only up 4 was fantastic and turned the tide for the rest of the game. Skelly was superb and McIntosh played another excellent game overall. Looks like we learned something against the press because we handled it much better tonight. Maybe in the future we'll attack a bit more once we've broken it, but was great to see how well we got past halfcourt against it.

It was a good win. Finished the deal on the road.

I know it's only Penn St., but still a great win on the road for Northwestern. And I think this team learned a lot tonight in how to break a press against a decent team on the road. Penn St. is definitely better than their record thanks to recent wins over Iowa and Indiana, so while not a great win, still a solid one for the Wildcats in a game they were able to finish. Let's finish the job on Sunday!

I think this comment is unfair. Demps is the only player capable of creating his own shot. We were struggling with the press and our 1/2 court offense was ineffective. It was up to Demps to take on the load because we could not handle PSU's extended defemse
