At -18 1/2, The money was pouring in so fast on the Cats that the bookies had to stop and rest for a while
That's what I'm afraid of. I made a lot of money on the Cats in 2012 when few realized they were good-even going into the bowl game. This year, the news seems to be getting out early. The spreads are likely to reflect it.
My system feeds line from one of the Vegas sources. This game hasn't populated yet for the week. When I looked into it - the line has moved pretty substantially for a small market team - shifting 2 points. And there has been no total posted yet. Typically, I have found that the authority I use acts a little conservatively for games that cross over power conference v non power conference and especially when the lines are jumping early. I expect to have a line up, but it might not be until Friday.
Neither the straight up nor spread are the most intesting bet for this game...it would be the O/U. Expect the defense to keep Ball State relatively low, but will the offense break out or not?
There are several other Div 1 games that are not on the board yet. Maybe there just isn't much interest in those games.
We are 19 point favorites. That seems a bit high, unless we get a lot of turnovers. They have a prolific offense and will probably score in garbage time.
Agree. Fitz doesn't like to run up the score...and god willing, we'll be in a position to make this sort of classy decision.
