Official Watch Party?

Has anyone heard if the NU Club of Chicago or Northwestern itself will be having a watch party of some sort? Not being able to make the trip to Utah, I plan on attending wherever it may be.

NU should show on the scoreboard at W-R and let students in for free and charge the general public $5 - open up concession stands. The bulls did this for their away games back when they used to win championships - I watched Jordan's famous last shot over Byron Russell there - ton of fun. Renovations may prevent NU from doing anything this year.

I outgrew Kincaid's when I was 30. Hey oh!

That said, I'll be there, unless they do open W-R.

Someone asked about that on Twitter and the Athletic Department responded the renovation would prevent them from opening WRA again.

When the Cubs were closing in on the championship the main TV in the ground level of Norris was tuned to the game and there were a number of students there watching together (while doing homework). Alumni are also welcome at Norris, but you might want to bring your laptop or some book you haven't finished reading so you will fit in with the group.

also, it seems kind of weird that it's not linked from nusports.com, so not sure if people just aren't talking to each other or what? (to be fair, they've never had to think about such things before! )

oh ok, I must've just looked when they were in the middle of updating everything! the campus watch parties weren't on the list when I looked just a few minutes ago.

I would suggest parking on Sheridan Road or adjacent streets. You could probably fly to SLC for the same price as the parking ticket you will receive

I received confirmation from the Norris Center staff that it is indeed open to the public. I'll be enjoying the game with students and my family, which should be fun!

Edit: NU will be on spring break, so Norris will not be having a big watch party.

It was great. Maybe 50-60 people most of whom were actually engaged in the game At the end everyone was standing holding their breath I think. The beer there is awesome, I have just a little bit of a hangover this morning

+1. I was there too. It was packed and everyone was into it from the start. The place was lit, as the kids say, at the end of the game.

I was at the "other" official watch party at Kincade's, hosted by the NU Club of Chicago. It was packed with a couple hundred Cat fans -- mostly 20-somethings plus a few old guys like me. Electric from start to finish.
