I'd like to be in a place that makes me happy to be an NU fan. Where I can talk with other NU fans. I don't want anything to do with the amount of crap and badmouthing lots of people are doing on the boards. It doesn't make me happy. It just angers me and annoys me. I don't need to pay money to get angered by reading that NU football is crap, the administration sucks, the football coach is terrible and should be fired. If I wanted to do that, I would join the Illinois board. Instead I'm here steamed and threatening fights with assholes that are only on the board to scream for changing things they know nothing about.
I'm sure I'll be back when Fitz gets the ship going the right way, the trolls shut up, and support for NU sports is high again. Maybe a great basketball season will get me to make an appearance or two. Thanks to many of you for giving me a fun diversion daily. I've met many in person, and have many more "friends" that I've yet to meet, but have felt that you're a part of my life despite having never spoken to you in person.
Gary, Uber, Glades, Mrcat, Willycat, NoChores, NURosebowl, PurpleDriver, Coral, NUGreek, St. Pauli, Fiad/Frieda, Waterboy/girl... (and I'm sure I'm forgetting someone... sorry), I think a lot of us are "unlikely" friends. What I mean is where will a lawyer from Eerie PA (and I won't say an age) meet a 30 year old trader from Chicago? Probably nowhere. It's the board that brought us together and a bond in NU athletics.. and a love for Yeungling. So as unlikely as it is, I'm glad that I've met you all and that we've become friends over the years.
MR, Glades, and even GCG, thanks for your perspective as former players. While sometimes, I did feel belittled as a cheerleader instead of a football player or someone that never strapped it on, I definitely did learn a lot and general watch the games differently now from learning about the game from people with your experiences.
Louie... I know I'm a valuable contributor to the site; but trust me, you will be able to continue to publish this site without me. Ok, seriously, thanks for all the work that you and your staff do. If you ever feel this board has "gotten better" and want to email me a "sales pitch" to get my money back feel free. Speaking of free... feel free to email me free practice reports.
Anyone want to keep in touch and talk some football anthony.ryan4983@gmail.com
