Hance seems to have regressed, Olsen makes plenty of mental and physical mistakes, OL's pass sets are baby soft..... As well, MRCat95's thoughts on the quality of our atheletes are instructive.
So, again I ask, why can't we do what Wisconsin did several years ago and fire the OL coach mid season? Normally I would not call for anyone to be fired and certainly not vent my feelings on a public ( albeit paid ) forum, but after watching and re-watching the Duke game tape, enough is enough. Yes, it's disruptive and yes he's a good recruiter, but this will send a signal that is badly needed: there really is accountability for consistently poor performance and this includes everyone in the program, including coaches. This team still needs a serious wake up call, IMO. The win against Duke is nothing to be excited about. The next step in his coaching development is for Fitz to learn the real leadership means making necessary decisions, however unpleasant, in a timely manner.
Well, perhaps this draconian recommendation has been made because my massive disappointment in this season's start has allowed emotion to color my thinking. Or maybe--as undoubtedly a number of you will comment--I'm simply demonstrating my ignorance. Let's see what happens when NU begins B1G play this week.
