OOC Schedule

1 road game, 3 neutral, 6 home games:

Here's their most recent kenpom rankings:
lehigh - 263
dayton - 32
uic - 196
eastern illinois - 320
pepperdine - 224
butler - 61
miss state or unlv - 34 or 78
georgia tech - 73
depaul - 304
northeastern - 250

in terms of conferences, kp rank out of 33 conf, # of games:
Big East, 2nd, 2
SEC, 4th, 1 or 0
ACC, 5th, 1
Mountain West, 7th, 1 or 0
Atlantic 10, 8th, 1
Missouri Valley Conference, 10th, 1
West Coast Conference, 11th, 1
Coastal Athletic Association, 19th, 1
Ohio Valley Conference, 28th, 1
Patriot League, 31st, 1

For the Collins era, I'd argue among the most challenging non-cons.

NU released the full non conference schedule. No home games of note this season.

Thankfully, Chicago State is not on the schedule.......

Are we to assume there will be the usual conference game in the first week of December? Otherwise that's a really long break between 11/29 and 12/15.

Isn't that reading week and then finals for the 1st trisemester??

Finals week starts December 9th. I would expect a conference game during the preceding weekend. That's how it played out last season, with the Purdue game the Friday before Finals week.

Here are the final T-Rankings from last season:
Lehigh 267
Dayton 47
UIC 178
EIU 320
Montana St 206
Pepperdine 186
Butler 57
Miss St 34/UNLV 72
GT 121
DePaul 287
Northeastern 212

That Arizona tournament should be a good challenge. And the Dayton game, obviously. Only two of the other opponents finished ranked better than 200, but only 1 was worse than 300. If nothing else it's nice to see some new opponents:

Lehigh - NU is 2-0 with the last game in 2005
UIC - Have only played 10 times
EIU - Have only played 3 times
Montana St - First game!
Pepperdine - 0-2, last in 2000
UNLV - Played once (loss) in 1977
Northeastern - 4 games, last in 1993

The home non-con schedule is terrible but overall this seems like a nice upgrade given the return game against Dayton, Butler for sure and then either Miss State (again) or UNLV. Minimum four quad 2 opportunities, you’d think. Last year we had only 1 (Dayton), right? We thought Arizona State would be one too but they stunk.

Mississippi State last year was a Quad 1 game.
