Purportedly on October 12. Did anyone else see the announcement on the jumbotron at Ryan Field at the BGSU game?

Check facebook account for mens basketball. I believe the scrimmage is at allstate arena.

Just checked NUSports. Doors open at 6:00; scrimmage at 7:00. Planning on being there. Should be a lot better than the last scrimmage I attended: during the OSU Game Day typhoon .

I hope all NU fans don't get down about playing at AA. It isn't all that bad. When I was growing up and in HS, my best friend's parents had season tickets for Depaul games. I had a lot of fun at that place when Depaul was really good. And I think NU is going to be really good this year. It may be a bit of an inconvenience to the players and students to get out there, but it is actually a really nice place to see a basketball game- not to mention the Greatful Dead, circus, other bands, and to see a good flea market on a Sunday afternoon. So just give it a chance- it may grow on you. It actually might be more convenient for a lot of NU fans to get there. It is right off the highway and easier to get in and out of before/after the game. They might actually get more alums to see the games because of this.

Love your positive vibe mick. You’re the anti-willycat.

Great post. The key is that NU could potentially be really good this year. As in ranked for a good part of the season. As Collins said in his press conference, build it and they will come. Most fans would rather deal with the temporary inconvenience to see great basketball than have convenient mediocre basketball.

Are there usually open scrimmages? Great idea to get people to figure out how to get the the alternative venue. Also to help the team to get the feel for the venue with a crowd. I hope a lot of people can attend.
Go Cats!

I'll go to more Cats games than ever this year. Weekday games in Evanston suck for me after work, but the blue line is a few blocks away and cheap/quick. I'd imagine it'll be similar for a lot of people on the boards who live downtown

Do you know if there’ll be shuttles from the Blue?

Actually your totally wrong. I have consistently been saying that they will draw well in Rosemont, if they play as well as last season. They might average well over 10,000 but my negative thoughts are because then a lot of those new and some old Wildcat fans will not be able to find seats in the new 6,000 seat W-R arena.

Exactly...key words being “my negative thoughts”. Some might argue that high demand in the new arena would be a good thing.

Imagine a sold-out raucous arena, all fans clad in Purple, students camping out in Collinsville in order to get their spot in the student section, visiting fans being shut out by our season ticket holders - heaven forbid!!!

that's a pretty picture. Now let's see if we can convince our season ticket holders not to sell to the enemies.

It might take a couple of years but eventually the big money ticket season holders will pressure the little money season ticket holders to fall in line. Welcome to America where there is less democracy than there is power.

Or if that doesn't work NU could cut the number of seats to under 5,000.

Hopefully you will share your thoughts with the board after the game tonight. Pretty please?
