For the first two rounds...

1) Milwaukee
2) Indianapolis
3) SLC (ski on the off day!)
4) Orlando (it's warm at least and cheap to fly to)
5) Tulsa
6) Greenville
7) Buffalo (day trip to Niagara Falls?)
8) Sacramento

My dream matchup would be against Marquette in a 7-10 game in Milwaukee or Indianapolis.

We aren't going to lose the last 6 guys, we goin dancin!

Rooting hard for Indy myself, as it's the only one I can reasonably drive to without needing a hotel. Also Indy is Friday/Sunday, so it's a bit easier workwise, especially if it's Friday night.

I go to the tournament every year with a group of friends. This is our 25th year and we are already going to Orlando. I am keeping my fingers crossed. (otherwise I will need to go the next weekend and see them in the sweet 16)

Oh man. Well you better hope we get matched up opposite FSU or Florida then - they will likely draw the two lead slots for Orlando. FSU as a 2 right now, Florida as a 3 I believe in the midseason rank thing.

And fyi to others Buffalo Mke Orlando and SLC are Thurs / Sat, while Indy Sacramento Tulsa Greenville are Fri / Sun.

I mean, if it's Milwaukee or Indy, we're gonna sell a lotttt of tickets. I wonder how many buses it would take to send the entire student body.

My parents live 45 minutes from Indy. That's what I'm hoping for.
So I was thinking Kentucky and Louisville will prob be the leaders on the two groups who get paired there. So if Louisville gets a 2 maybe and a Kentucky a 3, then a 6 or a 7 seed could conceivably set us up in Indy.

If Wisconsin and or Purdue (or maybe Butler as the early top 16 showed) get a top 4 seed (or maybe even a 5) they will likely be shunted to Milwaukee if they are behind Kentucky and Lville in the overall ranks. Unless one of them passes one of those. But that may be tough. Also I don't think they would match NU up as the 2nd highest seed in a mini bracket that was led by a B1G team.

(And yes to whoever was complaining on a different thread, this is very much silly speculation, but hey it's a lot of fun)

8000 divided by however many you fit in a bus.... 150 or so? If they could get even 2k to go though that would be pretty impressive. It's usually right after winter quarter finals as I recall. Anyone know what the capacity of the student section at WR for comparison?

Yeah I think the two highest rated ACC teams (ex FSU to Orlando and Lville to Indy discussed above) draw Greenville. So some combination of UNC, Virginia, Duke. With us currently tracking for a 7, Greenville is definitely feasible. But almost all the other are too... I actually think Milwaukee is unfortunately the least likely, cause it would be tough for us to get up to a 5 seed without either winning out or making a run thru the BTT...

I will fly if the weather and destination work out so:
1. Milwaukee or Indy
2. Buffalo
3. Greensboro
4. maybe Tulsa
5. CBS

And I might have an extra seat or two. Lara will be co-pilot again (she is actually taking flying lessons and hopes to unseat this pilot...) The more bodies = less luggage - and you need to be able to get to Gary Airport or be along the route. The plan would be to fly in for the first game and stay only until they get knocked out - if they play two great. If they get upset, then homeward bound the next day at a reasonable hour.

I cannot PM, so hit me up here if you are interested. (btw, I fly a 1992 Bonanza F33A currently. Comfortably seats 4. Not pressurized, so 12,000 is our limit on altitude. And my baby hauls arse ;)

I like the proposed Marquette matchup, somewhere in Milwaupolis.

For the record, we may very well play in Milwaukee, or we may very well play Marquette, but we will not play Marquette in Milwaukee. It is against tournament selection rules for a school to play in its home stadium (with the exception of Dayton playing in the First Four).

Ah yeah okay, I was kinda figuring that might be the case since they are the host there but didn't know for sure. I guess we have to hope to run into them in Indy maybe... or there are plenty of other compelling matchups out there!

No NCAA games in NC (Greensboro) due to bathroom law. Greenville is in SC, not to be confused with Greenville, NC which is home to East Carolina University.

Wouldn't want you to fly to the wrong city!;)

Cross that off. Too far...me thinks...

Either way I would have to drive the 4 hours to Milwaukee, it's the closest airport. SLC would have the added draw of staying with my son and seeing my grandchildren.

I have been to 49 states, but have never been to Idaho. If the game is in SLC, I'm only like an hour or two away from the Idaho border. Achieve two lifelong dreams in one trip!

Caution though if you head up to Idaho ---

And that is not photoshopped - I picked up the postcard on my first foray into Idaho back before photoshop was even invented.
