Begins Sunday night in LA vs the highly capable Rams team with a real QB.

Stafford has played well vs the Bears and the Bears’ secondary is vulnerable thanks to Ryan Pace’s great roster management.

Despite an extra game, the Bears will win fewer games than last season. The schedule is tough. The QB position is unsettled. The line is suspect. The secondary is bad. 6-11.

I've been a fan since 1977 but I'm almost at the point where I don't give a damn anymore. I don't think there's any hope for this franchise as long as the name on the boss's door says "McCaskey". Our only hope is that they accidentally hire a good GM after Ryan Pace is shown the door.
I'll watch them when I can and hope they win, but if they lose I really don't care.

I’ll take the over on that. Bears will be better than people expect. The young talent on the team is underestimated. They do need a new head coach though. Nagy is terrible.

I'm thinking more positive, like 9-8. That being said I think they'll get smoked Sunday.

I agree. While I expect them to lose on Sunday, I don’t think they’ll get smoked. The game will be competitive. This team is much better than people give them credit for. Pace has done a very good job drafting/signing free agents the last several years. Matt Nagy is a different story. A modern day Wanny. He needs to go.

Matt Nagy is a brilliant offensive mind and a great guy. Had the pleasure of meeting him at a graduation ceremony a few years ago at his alma mader.

The new and improved Cincinnati Bengals are next up for the Bears. I hope you guys struggle to figure it out for at least one more week.

Matt Nagy is a brilliant coach and a great dude. He’s accomplished a lot in Chicago. Stop talking crap about him

Your Brilliant offensive coach just oversaw an offense that only had 3 plays of greater than 15 yards from the line of scrimmage. I thought the problem in the past was not enough speed? What happened? So much for your offensive guru. The guy has one of the best RBs in the league who was gaining 10 yards a pop and Montgomery only had 3 touches deep in the first half. Nagy is a stubborn, prideful, inflexible, moron. Good coaches adapt their system to their talent, not the other way around.

Dean Lowry had a nice game for Green Bay with a sack and several tackles and pressures. Tyler Lancaster got some PT as well.

The Bears still suck.

I feel bad for Fields. He got the crap beat out of him today. The Bears cannot block a phone call, let alone a decent front 7.

In an unrelated note, Ceedee Lamb is going to be a star.
That is why Dalton should be the sacrificial lamb. I wanted to see an OL before I saw a franchise QB that was going to get killed

Dear Virginia,

You have a big problem that you need to address, at the latest, this offseason, if not immediately.

Your head coach has no idea how to run a football team, how to create a game plan, and how to coach during a game.

Your general manager has shown himself incapable of building a competent NFL roster. In particular, he has failed to address the critical quarterback position, and now, with an elite talent at the position, he has not acquired the offensive line talent to protect him and foster his development. This is compounded by the failure of the head coach to scheme plays that give your quarterback the best opportunity to grow and succeed. Justin Fields is in danger of turning into a bust because of coaching and roster construction.

The culture of the team, despite the assurances of your son and front office, is broken. There is undisciplined behavior on and off the field.

In sum, the team and the franchise is broken. Again.

Love,

Hungry

Bring on the Arlington Heights Bears followed by the Chicago Football Team formerly known as the Jax Jaguars!

Is there enough data to declare Fields as “elite” and not, like , “Josh Rosen”.

Obviously talent and performance are different things in the NFL. That said, I think Fields has the physical talents to be an elite NFL QB. I also think his attitude and mindset are certainly in the right place.

But he needs to learn the game at a deliberate pace, and right now the coaching, game plans and play calling are all detrimental to this.

Nagy tested positive for COVID and will be away from the team for a while.

He’s fully vaccinated so should be fine.

So given that: does this temporary situation help or hurt the Bears?

Not that it really matters, but the Bears continue to find imaginative ways to lose. Giving up that 3 points before halftime was pretty egregious. But at least they did not expose Fields to a beating and made better use of the run game at times, which helped them use Fields in some read option and PA plays.

In the end, it is best that the Bears continue to lose games, and then clean house. The problem is that the same owners and executives who screwed up past football front office hires will hire the next batch of clowns to run the roster. Sell the club, get the new stadium deal done, and then maybe we can have a consistent winner.

Down side is they traded their draft pick. I’m rooting for the Arlington Heights Bears!

It’s terrible. I will bet some Steelers see fines or suspensions tomorrow. Day late.

Fields is legit. Sucks the bears management is sooooo bad. And the refs were terrible.

That said, still ready for them to move out and bring their ownership with. Hello Chicago football team that pulled off a great and improbable win this weekend.

Jax is my new team.

Fields was outstanding tonight. He’s a baller. Borom can play, though I thought they should have given him some help vs Watt at times.

What in the actual f*** is going on with the officials tonight?

Tony Corrente is what's going on. He's one of the most rigid, no feel for the game inspite of a gazillion years in the league, and over emotional white hats in the league. He's an endlessly irritating dumbass.

And that is in spite of me being one of the few who think he probably got that taunting call right. Marsh is a clown. He's the guy who never sticks with one team for long in spite of big talent... remember a few years ago him badmouthing Belichek and the Patriots team culture? He's a nonconformist moron. He might well have deserved that taunting call, inspite of Corrente also being an idiot.

Other than that, I would call it an off night for that crew. To put it mildly.

Back to back weeks Fields has elevated his game BIG time, and in crunch time. A serious stud. I thought he was going to singlehandedly get us the win on that last drive. If he stays healthy, and the Bears find just a semi-competent head coach and GM, he will make the Bears must see TV for years to come. I love this kid.

The Bears really do amaze me for their ability to find new ways to lose games. Tonight, they overcame Justin Fields.

Mark Kinkol tweeted that Nagy is done after Thursday.

Can they fire the McCaskeys too?

Nothing wrong with the McCaksey's as owners. They spend money and largely stay out of the way. The problem is they have made bad hires. This reporter is credible and so I do think Nagy is gone after this game. If they are going to do it in season this Thanksgiving week with a ten day break until their next game is their last reality chance chance to do it so it makes sense. I also think their contemplated move to Arlington is creating the urgency to fire him mid season as they can't afford deterioration in the public's support for the franchise. Firing Nagy will be a popular decision . My guess is they give Defensive Coordinator Sean Desai a chance to prove his managerial abilities to work as Head Coach on an interim basis for the rest of the season. I like the move and think this will be another popular decision in some circles as Desai would become the first person of Indian descent to ever be a head coach in the NFL. If he does well, I think he has an outside shot at keeping the job. At some point Desai will be a head coach in the NFL.
