Not much more to be said about the current state of affairs at NU that hasn’t been said, so let’s start a new topic that’s technically off topic but close enough… the Bears could have a mighty interesting off-season this cycle.
Started this thread because of the news the Raiders are benching Carr for Stidham, seemingly to set up cutting Carr for less:
That got me thinking Davante Adams would look really nice for a team with a high draft pick and no need for a QB… would the Raiders do Adams + #9 for the Bears’ #2 + draft capital? Bears could still likely get a day-one starter at OL or DL at that point, but would drop out of the elite tier of draft talent (Carter, Anderson, etc.). Is it worth it?
Either way seems like the Bears can do a lot of interesting stuff this off-season. Could trade down out of #2 to a QB-needy team and still get a high-level talent, plus spend a whole lot of the $100+MM in cap room to build around Fields.
So what say you, board denizens? What do you want to see the Bears do this off-season? What do you think is realistic? Have at it.
