UNC and USC are playing tonight in Charlotte. Normally, this rivalry has sell out crowds of 80,000 in Columbia or 65,000 in Chapel Hill. In search of the almighty dollar, they agreed to play in Charlotte sponsored by the department store Belk in front of maybe 25,000 people. What a joke. College football belongs on college campuses. I mean, playing in Charlotte 100 miles from either campus would be like Illinois playing in Soldier Field!

On a different note, Alcorn State has given up something like 34 first quarter points to Ga Tech. Hope that check is a big one. Take a beating for the payoff $$$.

Yes it's absolutely worth it. Look at UAB and Grambling in the last few years. We all look at the power 5 schools and the money they make, but the non-power 5 schools are hurting.

The beating alows them to exist. And maybe they win. It'll be interesting when the major conferences take away these guarantee games

Note that EIU is losing by 14 to WIU tonight.........

i question whether it's possible to make more money on two years of these types of neutral site games than it is to play a home game against one of your rivals. (I assume they split the gate for these games and they agreed to do it twice.)

These rivalry games are a huge part of the college experience, and I think its too bad that those students don't get that game at their stadium. (Granted, I know Clemson is THE rival for SC. Maybe Duke is bigger for NC, not sure.)

Atlanta has hosted some very successful games, and i believe its now done Labor Day itself. This year's is weak, though, Louisville and Auburn (and, actually, on Saturday.)

This will probably be a sellout, though, because sec fans truly are different.

The jerry dome is in the business now, too.

Living in NC now, I find UNC doesn't really get excited about football, even for Duke in the last 2 years. But if they did, USC would be the rival. You are tight about USC/Clemson. College football should be played on college campuses notwithstanding the $$$s of playing on the neutral site.
