Ohio State names Walter 'Ted' Carter Jr. from University of Nebraska as new president

Ohio State University on Tuesday named Walter 'Ted' Carter Jr. as its next president. He comes from another university in the Big Ten conference.

Noticed Gordon Gee has resurfaced again at West Virginia. Previously, two tenures at Ohio State, along with Brown, Vandy and Columbia.

Gordon was featured in an unflattering light this past weekend.

Everyone at West Virginia University Knew Something Was Up. I Hate That We Were Right.

The student population got smaller and smaller while fancy new buildings appeared.

I'm grateful that my alma maters have chosen great people to lead--Penn for continuing to have superb leadership--one great woman followed by their current Presaident. NU, also with Bienen and Shapiro, but now there is Schill. How did that happen? Perhaps this why NU is still not Ivy League caliber, or having regressed?

Schill was our second choice (why he was that high, I cannot fathom). Rebecca Blank was the real deal. Schill has some powerful allies, otherwise he would be teetering at this point. The Fitz debacle is just one item.

My recollection and opinion of the last thirty + years of NU leadership.
Weber-got the school on better financial ground.
Bienen - upgraded the academics to world class
Schapiro- got us to a world class name brand. Student life, scholarship, athletics all flourished in his tenure.
Schill-he is the Mayor [redacted] of NU. He is ruining everything.

Not. Lived through him at OSU. Epic fundraiser whose veneer runs very thin. He outlives his welcome very quickly.
