Just felt an earthquake here in Alaska a few minutes ago. Trying to find more info I learned there was a 7.9 quake off Papua New Guinea several hours ago and that a Tsunami alert remains in effect for some areas in the Pacific.
Another 5.0 quake was reported for Russia. Going back to yesterday there were three approximate 3.0 earthquakes reported with epicenters in Alaska's Aleutian Islands.
These appear to be of greater magnitude than normal seismic events extending over a broader than usual area within a short time frame. Could signal some significant plate shifting in progress.
