Is now Jango Glackin's dad? Jango committed on June 9th and his dad has been putting in work on social media, specifically Twitter:

To NU target Travis Whillock: "@Whillock_9 Come be a Cat and help us win a BIG Championship"

To NU commit Jake Saunders: "@MADDAWG_J @JangoGlackin Come be part of the Northwestern family. Your dad and I can finally be on the same team. :) "

After Saunders' committed: "Boom Baby welcome to the Cats. Another Whisky loss"

Gotta love the chirp at Wisconsin at the end. These are just a few examples, he also reassured us all after his son's commitment by saying that Jango will be a "Cat for life". What you guys think? Out of line and too far or just a social media savvy dad having fun and trying to support his son's team? I'm going with the latter

You guys know how much I hate these internet sites. Too much disinformation. But I love this twitter stuff.

Jango Unchained Clackin is going to be a stud here. Bottom line.

My good friend I have been campaigning for the Cat's for years. Especially to kids from Bishop Gorman here in Las Vegas. They were the best team in the country last year and probably will be again this year. They have a QB named Tate Martells who blew away the number one qb in the country Rosen from Cali last year. Martells is small but runs like a deer and has a very accurate and strong arm. He commited to Washington in 8th grade, yes you heard me correctly and just de-commited. I am sure Sarkissian will offer him again at USC though. He is just an incoming junior now and believe me this kid is lights out. Gorman is now a national powerhouse and with the Fertida's money behind them their facilities are like any good colleges. It's utterly insane and now Cali kids like Snoop Dogs son, Martells and even Muhammad Ali's grandson who runs a 4.38 40 go there. I always give the Cat's plenty of love on Twitter and Facebook!

Everything I have seen RE Jango's dad makes him look like a force.

It must be fun having such a great sports powerhouse as your local team, Chase Jeter and Stephen Zimmermann would be fun to watch. I know that Martell has an Alabama offer, I'd be thrilled if NU got almost any player from BG. Interesting fact though, at the Rivals QB Challenge Finals, NU commit Aidan Smith finished 4th while Martell finished 9th.

Martells obviously couldn't handle the hot weather. at the Rivals Challenge.

Too bad Mr. Jango wasn't a contributor to this forum. He's a live wire and would make things interesting.

Remember that Matell is a year younger though. He will be a junior this year. I have never been to a game but I have watched them on TV. The marque match ups are hard tickets to get and when they play another Valley school the other teams are utterly overwhelmed! The scores are like 70 zip. Gorman is now getting as mentioned great kids from Cali and soon I'd imagine that will be the case in Az Utah and Colo maybe. If the parents can afford it, they'll come here. The facilities are insane and it's a good education. Hey NU hockey what's up with your moniker? Can't imagine NU will ever get hockey. I played college hockey and many games at robert crown growing up, I just don't ever see NU getting hockey. They'd have to build a stadium and they won't happen. Almost killed a goalie at robert crown I'll never forget it. Broke his mask with a slapper from just outside the dots, blood all over the place, over 50 stitches I heard.

Why did you all back out of playing IMG Academy . We had you all scheduled, and you all backed out. Can't call yourself the best team in the country if you wont play the best teams.

Love the trash talk. Right up my alley.

Welcome, dad . You need to forget about all those other boards and stay here . This is where it's happening . I will let someone else explain to you about buying free drinks .

We were seriously looking forward to playing them. Was all ready to stay in Vegas that weekend. I am guessing with the loss of their head coach they wanted to regroup. We lost ours also, but still want to play them. I believe we still have a few dates open if they really want to be considered the best.

I have no connection to the school. Look they beat the number one school in the country last year in St. John Bosco. I don't know what they backed out of all I know is that they just win and that's it!

If you play a selective schedule, it is easier to win. They definitely backed out this year. I know because I was booking a trip to Vegas and was told they backed out. You played a fictional #1 team last year. Unless there is a High School playoffs like NCAA, no school can really be National Champs. But IMG Academy will play ANYBODY.

My man I appreciate your bravado but as I told you I have no connection to the school or team.

I understand. I am just a little disappointed we aren't playing them or Aquinas. Many schools won't play us this year. Actually having trouble getting a full schedule. I like to play the best. Looking forward to the Cats shocking people and winning at least one BIG in the next few years. It is nice to meet you mybrotha

Mr, Jango, I'm the random person who tweeted at you. Glad to have you here!
Have to meet in person at some games. Trying to recruit some of Jango IMG Academy teammates to join us in shocking the BIG. Want the parade the Blackhawks got

We are in Florida. If we were a college recruiting class, we would be ranked third behind OSU and FSU. We have 5 five star recruits. My son will be the Will linebacker. Getting him ready to be a player and leader for Fitz and the Cats in the next few years

This is awesome. Gets me fired up for football season and for the future of NU football.

CatsDad, I'm an NU alum, and I'll say that I think Jango's made a great decision. His football career will be over one day, but with a NU degree, he'll have advantages for life. Plus, as you know, Fitz is the real deal. It's not a facade with him. He cares about his players, and he's going to make sure they develop as men and then graduate from NU. Your son will be in good hands at NU, but sounds like you already know that. It's a special place for a lot of reasons.

I was a Fitz fan when he played. During the recruiting process I saw that Coach Fitz and his staff were honest and recruited well without sacrificing their integrity. Fitz has a passion to win , but not at all costs. Jango and I didn't pick NU for just the academics, we came to win a BIG. We came to add to all the winning teams that grace and have graced the great city of Chicago. I am excited that Fitz will be leading my son on and off the field. My two sons are the most valuable things that I have. They are my legacy, and I wasn't going to trust them to just anyone. I feel Jango is very fortunate to be accepted to such a great University. He is a 4.2 GPA student, so he has earned a great academic school. To have a school like Northwestern with a coach like Fitz is a blessing. I am confident that the morals and character I have raised my son to have will be the example he will get from Coach Fitz and his staff. I knew the day Jango first set foot in Evanston , I wanted him to go there and play for Fitz . I never told Jango that, as I wanted the decision to be his alone. He will be the one working hard and he needed to be the one who knew where he belonged. I knew he would make a smart decision and he didn't disappoint me with his decision. I am looking forward to meeting all the great fans and Alumni at Northwestern and am looking forward to all the great recruits that Fitz has picked up making the Alumni proud on and off the field. Fitz is drawing kids from schools that normally beat NU in recruiting. Fitz is doing it with his enthusiasm and pride he has for Northwestern and its fans, not by shady tactics used by other schools. Fasten your seatbelts, the next few years are going to be quite a ride.

I'm not about kissing butts or anything, but this is just about the most perfect thing you could've written about this process. Sounds like both you and your family understand what is important and make it happen. It will be a pleasure to have the Glackin family as part of the Wildcat family. Welcome!
