I was listening to ESPN radio, and Adam Rittenberg was on. He said that every year the NFL invites 32 non-draft eligible players to the combine to get a feel for how it works, etc. He mentioned that only the best underclassmen are invited, often many Alabama players. This past year Paddy Fisher was invited, which is pretty cool. I wasn’t aware of the NFL doing this, but seems to be pretty high praise Paddy!
