Dererk Pardon had a double-double last night as VASJ advance to the State Final 4 with a 21 point victory. Dererk had 11 points and 20 (!) boards.

Also, Kipper Nichols had 22 as St Eds also advanced. Most of his points were drives to the bucket. NU could use another slashing 3.......

I saw these two play against each other a few weeks ago. Kipper was in foul trouble, so he didn't play all that much. You can tell he's a very smooth player, though.

I'm less concerned than others are about Dererk Playing center at 6'8" or 6'9". He has long arms, a big body, doesn't shy away from any contact and finishes around the rim. He's more athletic than he would appear, and moves his feet pretty well, so he'll be able to influence shots on defense.

Yeah, not so concerned about Pardon's height (esp. since having long arms) since there was a pretty good player playing center for the Bucknuts not so long ago w/ basically the same build (now playing PF for the Celtics).
