Just curious. I was too embarrassed to read for a few days after I said I thought we matched up well with MSU. From a quick scan I saw a fair amount of bemoaning that we would be better if we had Vic Law.

I'm usually pretty optimistic about Cats related things, and Vic is a nice player, but to be honest I don't think he would have made a huge difference this year. I think our problems on defense this year have mostly been staying in front of guards on the perimeter and closing down bigs down low, not guarding wings. And on offense our problems have been getting penetration 1 on 1 by anyone other than BMac and making open shots when we get them. I think Vic is a great role player that fills up the stat sheet but not sure he would have made a huge difference to date. But curious to hear what others think.

By better, I meant to vote better than it is but no idea how much.

Haha right I was thinking better than 6-4 with that option but fair enough.

4-6 seems to be the most popular answer which is what I voted. So I guess people are largely thinking along the same lines...

More than missing his individual skill set it must have altered the overall chemistry on the court BC the ball would have certainly been in his hands a lot. Our non conference schedule let us win without finding much of a groove. At least that's what my eyeballs noticed.

I think we would have won against PSU and OSU. I think we miss his athleticism in certain match-ups and I bet we miss his swagger.

I think those and Maryland, Pt 1, may have ended differently. Law is not a game changer at this point, based on what we have seen to date. But a healthy Law probably would have reduced minutes for Demps, Tap and Lump. While all those guys bring something to the table - all three were limiting factors in those games, whether on O or D. Law seems to have established a consistent game at both ends by the end of last year.

Add MD at MD. I think he would have made a difference in 2 of the 3 hence 5-5. (and now 6-5) And since we play better down the stretch under CC (last year 5-2 in the last 7), that is potentially the difference between an NIT and NCAA bid

Also his athleticism allowed him to recover on D and not have others out of position leading to easy baskets by the other team. Pretty solid rebounder as well.
