To all my buds here on The Rock, please send your positive vibes to our daughter tomorrow at 7:30am. She is having her fourth surgery in five years for a case of supposed Ulcerative Colitis/Crohn's. U. of C., Northwestern and Evanston have never been able to give a definitive diagnosis since this began in 2014. Mayo even looked at her tests. She had a horrible Proctocolectomy done at Northwestern in 2016 and ended up with sepsis twice during the following month. In 2017 we sent her to Evanston for a Ileostomy revision after an abdominal fistula. It went well, till about three weeks ago, when as she was studying for her finals at Lake Forest College, a Bio Major, it returned. She is scheduled for another Ileostomy revision and we are hoping for the best. Any of you out there have any insight on this type of health issue and the ensuing treatments she has received? Surgery, Remicade, Humira, Cyclosporine, revisions? None of the biologics have worked either and now they fear that they should have kept her colon, as it was pristine except for an eight cm area. I've always wanted to reach out on here, but it's a pretty private matter for her, but she is so tired of all this surgery and lack of quality in her young life. I know there is a lot of smart folks on the board and any constructive input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for everything.
