Minnesota coach Richard Pitino

"A lot of respect for Northwestern. They run so many really good things."

"Mason hit big free throws...that's what juniors in this league do...he's stepping up and doing great things."

"To get two Big Ten road wins. It's really, really hard to win on the road."

On NU missing 14 of 15 3s in second half: "Just a point of emphasis to get out to their shooters...they're a great-shooting team."

On timeout after Lindsey dunk: Same thing happened at Purdue. "They're believing...in each other."

"It's exciting because we're playing well and we're very young."

Northwestern coach Chris Collins

"Disappointing result for us tonight. I thought we played really hard. I thought we did a lot of really good things."

Pivotal point: 10-0 run after Lindsey dunk.

At the end, I thought we got a lot of really good looks. Mentioned Skelly, BMac, Scottie. “You gotta make those shots.” “You’ve got to come up with the big shot if you want to win.”

“I thought our crowd was fantastic.”

“We’re not going to stop fighting. There’s 15 more games in this thing.”

BMac: Started cramping a little bit in the second half, which is why he came out. “I thought it was vintage B-Mac.” “I thought he played great…I’m really proud of him.”

Minny change? “They stayed with their coverages all night….1-15 from 3…at least 10 of them were wide open.”

Pardon: “I thought Pardon had some great moves in the post.” On playing 32 minutes: “He had a hand injury…he stayed in shape…it wasn’t about his conditioning…I didn’t come into the game with any premonitions how much I was going to play him…” He looked great in practice. “He gave us great minutes.”

Two straight tough losses: “Stay with it. It’d be different if I didn’t think we were fighting…it wasn’t about effort.” “That’s a good basketball team, they just won at Purdue.” “We’ve got to rally, regroup…you’ve got to find a way to make it up somewhere on the road.”

Shooting woes: “Minnesota takes away what you can get easy…a lot of length at the basket.” “I thought our offense was great in the first half…second half, it just became a grind-out game. (Minny went 11-38). We have to be more efficient at the end of games.”

Bryant McIntosh

Bouncing back after MSU: "Quit thinking about everything and just tried to play...take what they give me..."

Tired of being close: "We've got to quit feeling sorry for ourselves...we didn't make enough plays down the stretch..."

Offense at second half: "We got a little fatigued, for one. First half was a fast-paced game. We didn't execute as well...our fatigue played into that."

Dererk Pardon

How feeling: "I felt great. I was a little excited. It's good to get the rust off."

How to bounce back: "We know it's a long season...we can easily turn around, like Wisconsin last year."

Offense in second half: "We just didn't make open shots. It's that simple."
