#PoundThe Rock

An old mantra is taking new meaning this year for the MBB team.....

That’s cool and glad they could weave it in with the old mantra. However, it does look kind of familiar...

That's silly! The mark of a struggling program, IMO. Smells a bit like PJ Fleck putting oars on jerseys. If the players wanted this on their jersey's then I guess it's OK.

Wuhhhttt? PJ's "row the boat" mantra is all about his program and trying to build a winner. It came from PJ's butt.

The new "Pound the Rock" is about fighting social injustice. It did not come from CCC's butt, or any other orifice. Wasn't Gaines racially profiled not too long ago?

Pound the rock is about improving in basketball. At least it used to be.

I agree. This is a weird co-opting of a basketball slogan. But it’s hard to get too fired up if the players are good with it.

It’s okay to improve at multiple things concurrently.

I liked the “Row the Boat” comparison above. If Fleck was out here saying we need to row the boat toward racial justice, he would justifiably get roasted.

I always thought "Pound the Rock" was the constant recruiting paying members of WildcatReport have for those of us who don't pay for the extra features. It sure seems like a lot of people here like to "Pound the Rock."
