Press conference notes: Braun talks interim tag, new Ryan Field

This is really great stuff, again. I wonder what Braun meant when he said Gragg has involved the players ‘throughout this process.’ Seems a reference to a potential ‘remove the tag’ decision? I just can’t see Gragg like, speaking to the players, given what I know.

Second straight week he’s made reference to his kids following the Cats. This time in person. I love it.

(@mshelton33 there’s a Bastone misspelling in the third paragraph of the note)

If Gagg is really making a sincere effort to solicit the players' opinion of Braun, even someone as tone deaf as he will realize how much the players love and support Braun.

Latest rumor I heard was that they've talked to Paul Chryst
One of more than a half dozen candidates evaluated per this article:

Northwestern officials are studying potential candidates to lead their football program. Former Wisconsin coach Paul Chryst is among them. https://www.jsonline.com/story/spor...rn-evaluating-in-coaching-search/71566850007/

Chryst would be a decent fit, academically-oriented with an offensive coaching background. Wonder if he'd be open to Braun as DC? That said, he's a UW alum and retread who supposedly left their program behind the times according to Fickel.

Anybody heard any other names that might be in the more than half dozen candidates supposedly being evaluated by our athletic "braintrust"?

The last UW retread did ok here. That said, I prefer Braun if they don't collapse from here out

Hopefully it means hiring the new coach will come with the strong suggestion that they keep Braun.
