Sorry if this has already been posted, but I don't remember seeing it. The NCAA is going to announce the committee's current top 16 seeds (1-4 in each regional) on Feb 11. This will give some early insight into how they are prioritizing some standard metrics this year.

Thanks. I don't see the point of this. How different will the top 16 in this seeding be from the top 16 in the AP poll? Probably not very. It would be much more interesting if they put out the full 68 teams, that would definitely generate some clicks.

Agreed --- wouldn't it be more interesting to see the last 16 in? Or as you said -- whole bracket

They wanted to copy football, which gives you a top 25 when only about the top 15 matter for their "playoffs" ... so by comparison, showing the top 1/4 of the NCAA Field is meaningless. (Unless, of course, we manage to win the next 3!!!)

This is so dumb. I would show the top 32 teams, then you get a better idea of teams near the bubble. Does anyone care much who the top 4 seeds are at this time?

I think this will be a one-year thing, as people will think it's not telling much.

However, if I were in charge, I'd do the following:
* Tell people the four #1 seeds, including the overall #1.
* Ignore #2, #3, and #4 seeds. Those are basically known already, give or take a five deserving to be a four. We're not really learning anything interesting.
* Give the world the "bubble watch" - maybe be like Lunardi and the like and tell us the last eight in and first eight out. All of those teams already know they're on the bubble and have work to do anyway, but might as well give the world an idea of how the committee is leaning at that point.
* With the bubble watch group, highlight important games in the coming week (ESPN/CBS will probably do this for you).

All that said, I would personally prefer we don't do it at all. I like to unwrap all my presents on Selection Sunday.
