Lost in throws of an outstanding defensive effort is Hunter's best game yet, averaging over 40 yards per punt! I think he's going to be just fine as the season goes on.

Tru dat. I was concerned after Stanford. Thought he was a better team punter than the duke boomer.

After Week 3, NU ranks 33rd in the nation in net punting yardage, which is very good compared with the past several years. Duke, by comparison, ranks 25th.

Long, booming punts are majestic to watch but hang time, return defense and placement are possibly more important than sheer yardage.

There was reason why his one of the top rated kickers coming out of high school. Can he kick-off?

But the Duke boomer is going to play on Sundays with a leg like that. Coaching will get him where he needs to be with placement, I would guess. Harder to teach that kind of distance though.

Happy for the kid (about NFL possibilities) but couldn't care less. With our offense, having 27 touchbacks was like a gift. He really helped us - and it isn't like he was unable to kick OOB - the last one of the half was a 71 yarder OOB. that would have cornered us any other time in the game.
