in the gold medal game of the Summer Univeriade (summer international competition). They also had a tough game against Israel that went into OT. Watched a couple of the games...

- they definitely miss Biggy
- live by 3, die by 3... didn't see much effort to really work the ball in a system to create shots going to the basket
- Carson Edwards is very talented, but also a serious chucker. He would drive me nuts if he were on the Cats. Does not involve his teammates nearly enough in the offense. But, when his shots are dropping, he can really put on a show.
- Noel Eastern played a fair amount, but didn't see him contribute much

Unacceptable for the US to not win any international basketball tournament. Sorry, but that's how I feel. Disappointed in Purdue. US should've sent another team... preferably one that does better in tournament settings. Purdue is historically bad in tournaments even when they have lots of talent.

I bet Purdue loved being able to play in this tournament. Top competition makes a team stronger. Would LOVE to see NU get a shot someday.

How are teams selected to represent the US?

Depends. If this is some Lithuanian college team, it is disappointing, but it's another story if it's the Lithuanian national team, which is usually pretty damn good.
