Anybody know what the dustup at St Joe's was midseason that the Trib referenced in their story about St Joe's winning state. What was the on court scuffle all about and who was involved? Was it between Rakocevic and Ash or Rakocevic and someone else?

No. There was a fight between North Lawndale and Marshall HS in the Sectional Semifinals. North Lawndale won the game and a brawl erupted during the handshake line. IHSA (Illinois High School Association) suspended North Lawndale and they had to forfeit their next game for the Sectional Final v. St. Joseph's and maybe somebody in the Trib noted that St. Joseph's had one less tough game to play on their way to a championship. Rakocevic and Ash were celebrating and hugging each other after the game and hopefully, they will do the same if (fingers crossed) Rakocevic chooses to attend NU, but that will be a tough battle since everyone in the Big 10 and nationally is offering him.

I think you are mixing him up with Rapasoulos not Rakocevic. NU I don't believe offered him

I don't know if this is what you are referring to but there was talk midseason that Rakocevic was intending on leaving on the team because of team issues. Apparently there was a point in the season when they lost a couple of games and he was getting a lot of the blame. I wonder if he isn't well liked by his teammates.

Didn't Putin invite Kim Il Jong to a summit? Are they a package deal?

No, see article... and maybe stop spreading rumors about 17 year olds

From Rakocevic

last night the 3A championship game was rebroadcast and I watched a chunk of the first half.

Ash looked to be the leader of the team. He was positioning his teammates on defense and distributing the ball on offense....out of the huddle, he was the guy doing all the talking (in a good way).

Watson looks like a nice player but he has the appropriately selfish scorer mentality. He benefited greatly from playing with Ash. The big kid, Rackovic (sp?) looks tall and has decent skills. But he's not yet a force. Comparing him to another Catholic leaguer, Egwu, Rackovic is a smoother offensive player but doesn't have nearly as much defensive drive and doesn't get up as high.

I did confuse the Barrington H.S. player with St. Joe's Rakocevic in regards to who NU has offered or is recruiting. Rakocevic is highly sought after as stated and IU, UofI, IOwa, UW have offered. Duke, Kansas, UCLA, UVA have sought interest. He is ranked no. 79 in the 2016 player lists. So he appears to have a lot of skills including on offense which a lot schools are seeking.

Doesn't that article prove gmc's point? that there was talk midseason re leaving, and he was getting some blame? What am I missing?

The question was whether there were any issues with Jordan Ash, the NU commit and the St. Joseph's center. The answer was no from the article. Is there anything I am missing where there appears to be relevance to NU basketball in regards to your question about a scuffle? The key issue is that NU has a commit from a prestigious Illinois school known for basketball (graduates include Isiah Thomas and Evan Turner) who is a state champion and appears to be a high character student-athlete.
