Not necessarily, depends on how the school from which he is transferring wants to treat the situation.

I don't know what Braun's policy is but I suspect that in this instance they loose their schollie, but in practice if they want to return they will be accepted with open arms and a schollie as the program needs to stabilize.

If these guys change their mind we’ll welcome them back with open arms. Even before all that has transpired. I think NU was operating a couple below the maximum 85 man scholarship limit. With these transfer portal entries, we are facing the prospect of going into the season with 75 or less scholarship players on the roster. That is an ominous sign for next year and beyond.
