We're at .500 now. All we have to do is beat Iowa and win one game in the B1G tournament and we will finish 17-16.Originally posted by Catreporter:
To even have a chance for the NIT, we would have to beat Iowa or win at least two games at the United Center just to get to .500. And that might not be enough to get us in with our RPI still over 100. But never say never. I learned that after seeing us rally from 6 pts down with 10 seconds left.

Beating Iowa in Iowa is going to be tough.
I read the enlarged, highlighted "or" in catreporter's post as "and".Originally posted by EvanstonCat:

Let me try to explain. The NIT will allow .500 teams (e.g. a 16-16 UNC team a few years back). So, we could beat Iowa and not win any BTT games and would still qualify, though getting in would be a long shot given RPI (and failing to win in BTT).
EITHER WE HAVE TO BEAT IOWA, OR we win 2 in BTT.
Unless we win the BTT, we are assured of one more loss. So if we lose to Iowa, we would have to win 2 to stay at .500.
And of course, the more games we win, the better.
Kapeche?
Did you even watch the game? Actually, we were down 6 with less than 12 seconds left in the first OT. Demps hit two threes in nine seconds.Originally posted by Wrestlerneverdiesasacatfan:
Crazy stuff! We were down by five in first OT and Michigan had the ball with 35 seconds left! Amazing and epic comeback!
