Ranking QB transfers across the country this cycle

That was an interesting read. Looking forward to watching Peyton Ramsey lead the Cats to a B1G championship this fall.

"The Wildcats have more issues than quarterback,"

But QB is THE #1issue. Not sure what other issues he is referring to, the rest of the team is much more solid than QB.

Receivers are an unproven group with no obvious big playmaker. No proven candidate at tight end. The offensive line per many played poorly. Kicking is suspect. Just to name a few potential issues.

Well, OC was the other glaring issue. But, hopefully we have that solved now.

All those same “issues” won us the Big Ten West and the Holiday Bowl against a very talented Utah team the year before. The main difference was Clayton Thorson.

Let’s not forget the defense that has been the real rock of NU football and has contributed 3? (4 or 5? I forget) turnovers in a quarter and a half of play to turn things around.

Our offense, even with Clayton Thorson has been pedestrian at best. Good enough to win, but not really the reason behind our success, compared to Mike Hankwitz and the D.

This.
Payton has a very solid track record. Excellent in fact. If his performance falters, the evidence will have to expose some or many other problems.

The difference between 2018 and 2019 was Clayton Thomson. The defense played at a high level in both years. No defense can hold up when your offense can’t consistently sustain a drive.

Effectively losing your top three pass catchers (Nagel and Green as departing seniors, Skowronek after three games due to injury) without sufficient competitive depth to step up and compete at a B1G level might've had something to do with that as well.
