Good to see another OL in the fold. Now, IMO, NU needs to land a good LB soonish. So....
Can someone explain why the 'Cats seem to have trouble recruiting highly ranked LBs?
( Yes, I know : rankings are highly suspect and many on this board inveigh against them. CatsDad, among others, has helpfully fleshed out evidence and reasons as to why we should mistrust star rankings. More to the point, NU has been successful at spotting and developing good LBs, whose ranking belied their talent. That all said, some four star LBs really are high quality players. )
We have a good DC, with a proven track record. We're recruiting good DLmen, ESPN has a story projecting NU's secondary to be one of the B1G's best this year, AW -- as well as a number of others-- should be pretty good evidence that NU can develop LBs, our HC is an award winning college LB, etc. etc.
So, I'm at a loss to explain why we don't occasionally land a 4 star LB. Any thoughts?
