Red-hot Cats look for payback today vs. Iowa

Here's Jason Buoe's game preview.

Nice article, but not sure I’d say “a blow out is a polite term for how Iowa ended Northwestern’s three game winning streak”.

The ‘Cats led for a good chunk of the first half and Iowa didn’t pull away until around 6 mins left in the final stanza. The match up was mostly an entertaining game and one NU could have had. Iowa got hot from outside late and forced a few uncharacteristic turnovers from the purple.

Now if we were talking about last season’s Big Ten Tournament game…

We really ran out of gas about halfway through the second stanza. Takes a lot of energy to defend Iowa.

I agree. This was the end of the Cats energy after that brutal stretch. They didn't get any rest and were out of gas for the entirety of the Michigan game right after. Three exhausted halves led to two losses. Hopefully, the recent rest and game planning will make today a much different game for the Cats in a very positive way.

NU should keep going to the basket and be physical. Guard the 3 point line and make iowa take 2`s

They should at least give it a try or mix it up so we are not so predictable about double teaming down low. Go Cats!
