Well, I wouldn't say that. He's probably hired some private special ops guys to hunt down the bounties.

Russia knows all too well what getting bogged down in Afghanistan can do to a country. Afghanistan where Empires go to get their guts ripped out. Ask the USSR.

And now the US is there in the longest foreign engagement in our history. For a great read & historical perspective, I recommend Beyond The Khyber Pass: The Road to British Disaster in the First Afghan War by John H Waller.

Beyond the Khyber Pass is a sweeping saga, chronicling the brutal wars and international intrigues of the nineteenth century in India and Afghanistan--the "Great Game" that culminated in the siege of Kabul and the deaths of 16,000 British soldiers, their families and camp followers. The story of British-Russian rivalry in central Asia as the nineteenth century began has all the ingredients of a fascinating narrative history: high-stake international politics, war, murder, espionage, palace plots, debauchery and a truly memorable massacre. The "players" of the game would be the envy of any novelist.

The fact that this story barely makes a sound speaks quite loudly.

Trump has known about this for months and has done nothing about it. Can someone please tell me why this isn’t another piece of anecdotal evidence that supports the claim that Trump is a traitor?

We now know that US and UK troops suffered casualties from this bounty program. Trump and his bootlicker Ratliffe claim no one ever told him, which even if true means the people Trump hired in his own executive branch don't trust him or completely incapable. More likely, Trump isn't acting against Putin because he wants Putin's favors for the election, even while Putin is sowing even more discord by KILLING AMERICAN SOLDIERS and hoping that it starts another round of skirmishes in Afghanistan to destabilize that region even more.

Trump has to go. Can we vote now?

When Trump licked Putin's sphincter at Helsinki I posted on this board that his behavior was treasonous.

One of the cultists here responded simply, "LOL".

And so here we are. LOL. Isn't it hilarious.

This is either an intelligence breakdown of the highest criticality if this information did not reach the President, or he is lying.

Either way, this is a huge scandal, and he is golfing.

Trump is obviously telling more lies. Let’s say that he didn’t know (again highly unlikely), he knows about it now. Has he done anything about it since it has become public?

No he has not. I am sure it was included in his daily brief and I am also sure he doesn't Read them. Given his well documented propensity to lose his shit anytime someone in is administration criticizes Russia, I am also pretty sure none of the chicken shits that now surround him had the courage to point it out to him.

This is what Trump has done to people. You may think the New York Times is left leaning in the news they cover and how they write it, but you are now taking the word of a website that describes itself as "the #1 conservative website" over one of the most globally respected news sources (love it or hate it, this is true). The top three most popular stories on Townhall.com now have the following headlines:

"A Lefty Mob Trespassed On Their Property, But A St. Louis Couple Knew What To Do To Deter Them"
    "America's Problem Is Systemic Liberalism"
"NYT Finds Themselves In A Blunder Over Their Botched Russia-Taliban Story"

This "news source" is perfectly clear in what news you will get from them. For me, on either side, a site like that is an immediate throw away. How can you trust anything from them when they are clear in their mission statement about what their agenda is?

And while on that topic, how can anyone take Trump at his word? He says he didn't know. You really believe that?

Maybe we can get back at Russia by ousting Maduro from power.

    Monroe Doctrine!

(Also, no, I don't trust the New York Times or Washington Post, especially when it comes to leaks. Can't read the Washington Post article because it's behind a paywall.)

And the Wall Street Journal, and British Intelligence.

This is a coordinated leak. Highly detailed, purposeful leak by intelligence and/or military. I'd argue at a pretty high level.

What we're seeing now is traditional conservative leadership and institutions traditionally aligned with conservative values one by one telling the country that a second term is unacceptable.

They're taking no chances, they're trying to bury him.

But here's another story from Fox News:
    https://www.foxnews.com/politics/tr...-report-on-russian-bounties-against-us-troops

The problem with leaks is we're only getting the perspective from the leaker. I find it entirely plausible that intelligence (majority opinion) did not find this credible and so didn't brief either Trump or Pence on it. Leakers leak stuff because they want to damage Trump.

Because Republicans don't want him to be a traitor. I'm beginning to believe they just want him to go away without damaging the Party any further, but no one is willing to speak out in case he doesn't. Bunch of traitors there, too.

Democrats are traitors because they illegally (and anonymously) leak details from classified reports to the New York Slimes and the Washington Compost.

Another canard. What Steele provided was raw intelligence based on human sources, which can be unreliable. These types of memos are turned over to analysts, who then try to verify individual claims. They're considered good work at 50% correct. Steele understood the possibility of disinformation and tried to weed that out. He believed they were about 70% correct, which would put them at world class status. And over time we've seen that many of the main assertions were on the money.

Steele was a trusted FBI source but there was a falling out when he realized, based on an infamous New York Times article, there were parties within the agency trying to cover up the information he provided. The agency in turn was upset that he took the information to reporters.

But the memos were never meant to be published. A reporter and an editor from the Daily Beast, I believe, screwed over Fusion and Steele.

He was either briefed on it or he wasn't. It's easily provable and traceable. And I'm sure you would agree that verifying whether he was given the nature of the accusation is of the upmost importance.

Steele's credibility was in great part due to the fact that he was a major source on the FIFA bribery case

P.S. I'm serious about Maduro. If I were running for president, my platform would include ousting Maduro from power under the Monroe Doctrine. China and Russia can go pound sand, propping up dictators and failed states in our hemisphere. If they want to protect their economic interests in Venezuela, I would give them one chance to strike a deal where they withdraw their support from Maduro in exchange for negotiated guarantees from the new regime. If they don't come to the table, then too bad for them after we topple Maduro anyway.

Don’t we have enough fricken problems already? Now we you want to start some shit in Venezuela? The Venezuela problem will take care of itself in due time. We shouldn’t do anything more than what we are already doing.
