Question for board mavens: interesting article in the WSJ this weekend on use of tech in sports. Leo Koloamatangi of the Lions is quoted as saying “ There are major flaws in most S+C programs that can lead to burnout and injury.” He goes on to say that after turning pro, he linked up with Sparta Science, a sports science out fit that uses “A.I. software to capture 3000 data points detailing how I move and my weaknesses as an athlete to help build me a smarter workout regime.” I’ve also read article on how Florida State, OSU and other P5 programs have used monitors to track medical data ( heart rate, lactic acid, etc. ) to optimize player performance. Another article spoke of studying data generated from monitoring stretching and flexibility exercises to study how various versions increased performance and mitigate soft tissue injuries. Does anyone know to what degree NUFB utilizes such technology?
