Their website (which, incidentally, is promoting Christmas Eve) trumpets 40 years in business. I can only hope this means 'retirement' and not 'put out of business by UberEats'.

I can remember eating there in the autumn of '74, and Dave's had been open for some time at that point. Lots of memories.

I'll admit the food wasn't anything spectacular but it was priced accordingly. Nothing more ridiculous than an Italian restaurant charging $18 for a plate of pasta. It was always a fun atmosphere. Rumor is issues with liquor license that Dave didn't want to deal with anymore.

Nasty double whammy coming on the heels of Dixie Kitchen closing.
 
This hit my family hard. It was pretty much a mandatory stop on our visits. Simple, reliable, affordable.
