Was anyone else surprised Sanjay didn't miss that last shot on purpose? It seemed to me that letting Vandy set up an inbounds play was the worst possible way to let them get a decent attempt--either with a catch & shoot, or a foul called on one of our guys going for the long pass. I guess we got lucky that they took a relatively short inbounds pass, leaving a 3/4-court hail mary heave as their only option.

Oh well, we're 1-0 BABY!

You are correct. After the first miss he should have missed the second. Losing by 1 or 2 means the same.

O well! On to round 2!

Technially, there's no positive in making that 2nd shot. They were going to shoot a 3-pointer regardless. All it did was help them get a better look. Definitely surprised he didn't miss...but you know what...bring on Gonzaga!!!

My guess is it's sort of hard to miss a free throw on purpose without really screwing it up, especially when your adrenaline is throwing. He has to hit the rim, and if he tries too hard to miss, something crazy could happen. Still, someone who can make 70% of his free throws should be able to miss it the way he wants to.
