Great finish by Lipsky to make it four. SU looks like he will make the cut on the K-F Tour also, but play was suspended due to weather.

I hate to jinx anyone, but everyone, other than Fitzpatrick, has started today strong. Lipsky birdied the first four holes, and Luke birdied two of the first three.

Dylan Wu had the round of the day at 7 under par. Currently in 11th place before the US Open next week.

Lipsky and Fitzpatrick making a good run in fourth round, but Luke is in full meltdown mode - very sad. Having trouble hitting the ball at all straight. Bogeyed first two holes and is about to shoot super bogey on the fourth hole.

Calling Fitzpatrick an "alum" is a big stretch. Did he even make it through 1 season?

And there are probably 20 schools that have had 4 guys play in an event, Georgia, Texas, Alabama, Wake Forest, LSU, USC, Arizona St, Texas, Florida, etc.

Maybe! But did those teams have four guys make the cut? Lipsky finished 9th. Fitzpatrick 11th. Dylan Wu is in top 11 with a few holes to go in his event

Not quite accurate Wrassler. Lipsky finished 8th only 2 shots off the pace. Fitzpatrick was 10th. Luke made a nice comeback after a horrible start, and wound up 31st, 7 shots back at minus 4. Harrington finished in the 50's at minus 2. Great showing by the 'Cats linksters.

Yes, but after going 4 over in the first 4 holes, he played the last 14 at 2 under to finish minus 4 in 31st place!

Curious as to the total prize money won by the NU alums this weekend?

Fran Quinn played in the Champions Tour Event as well - so six Cats played on Sunday in PGA Tour events yesterday. Definitely a good day for Cats golf.

I'm guessing it's happened many times. And probably even in some real events, not a replacement event the week before a major.

Congaree had only 2 members when it opened, possibly only one now, following the death of Bob McNair. Dan Friedkin came to the rescue of the PGA by sponsoring the Palmetto Open. Each year "ambassadors" are invited to join . There is no initiation or dues just a commitment to mentor disadvantaged kids and support charitable endeavors.

You may have seen Congaree for the last time but it proved to be a worthy challenge for the pros. On the broadcast, it was mentioned that in the average PGA tour event , there are 53-54 3 putts for the tournament. There were over 200 3 putts at Congaree in the first 2 rounds. There was no rough but waste areas with native grasses caused some high scores

Congaree was a philanthropic project that has been somewhat obscure in the golf world . It will remain one of the most exclusive and private courses in the USA

Tough sledding for sure! The top pros can eat up any man made golf course, including Palmetto, if it wasn't playing so firm and fast! The pros hit it 310 off the tee! Who can make a course that long. Bomb the stuffing out of the ball. No Roger Federer finesse out there! Just bomb it!

Yes but none of them are Northwestern so no reason to pay attention
