The President clearly doesn’t understand, or care, about the football program or any of the dedicated NU student athletes. But he does care deeply for a good for nothing former student named Carl Richardson. Instead of resolving a potential issue in house with the help of the AD, the two numbskulls terribly mishandled the problem, embarrassed the university on a national level and ruined the football program. Recruiting was hard enough at NU with the stupid admissions issues and now they’ve made recruiting virtually impossible.
Schill’s actions have gutted a BigTen football program, its coaches, players, NU football families, wildcat fans, current recruits and prospective recruits. All because of the complaints of an individual who has no current affiliation with the football program or the university. He could have mitigated things with one press conference and handled the issues in house and out of the media. He’s a complete fool and not a guardian of the university or student athletes. Does the rest of the football team seem like they need protecting from sexual violence in the locker room? NO. If fact, the players say none of this ever happened and some say Richardson is a flat out liar who had an agenda.
The AD is a coward and was no where to be found when his coaches and players needed him most. He is not a leader. He attended the players meeting by Zoom for god sake. Why wouldn’t the AD be in Evanston during the biggest crisis in his department in decades? This is the same guy who tried to screw CC before the big season forced Gragg to give CC an extension. I know for a fact that the coaches never liked Gragg even before this debacle. Everyone loved Mike Polisky who should be the current AD, but they ran him out after 10 days. The administrators at Northwestern University have no spine, zero!
You think Jim Phillips and Morty Shapiro would’ve handled the matter like these fools? The answer is: No. Ultimately it’s up to the Board of Trustees to clean out Schill and Gragg and it should happen soon! Hopefully Pat Ryan steps into the picture.
Friends, in the day of “Super conferences”, NU’s existence in the BigTen just got shorter. With Schill and Greg at the helm the cats will be in the ivy league very soon.
