i won't divulge my source, but suffice it to say it's pretty close to a perfect source.

Football currently has about 20,000 season tix holders in case anyone was curious. If you consider that very few have one ticket...our base is pretty small. Prolly 8-10,000 people.

Basketball. 4000 season ticket holders.

There will be no PSL in the new bldg....but...

Each section will have a required nominal donation to the wildcat fund to buy tix in that section. It could be 1000 dollars. Could be more in others. Less in others.

There will still be plenty of tix for single game.

Can we assume the Wildcat Fund donation mentioned here is the same as the one used to determine football parking assignments?

Btw, tix scare me, what with Lyme disease and all.

One time donation or every year?

If the donation does count towards parking I'm totally fine with it.

You mean 4,000 season tickets, not season ticket holders, right? Most season ticket holders have at least 2 seats.
Judging by the calculations and 6,800 actual seats, it is likely that many seats will be sold singly since the support base isnt great enough to support a yearly 1,000 donation plus ticket prices. Most will simply buy the single game tickets, if interested.

To add very little to this, a few weeks ago, I was told there's an unknown quantity where NU will cap season tickets sales and stop selling them. Supposedly, they are close to that number.

However, I'd bet with the new costs a minimal number of seats will become available because some people will not buy as many seats.

Thanks for the info, T.

I was told the quantity is 6,800 which is close to the capacity of the brand new WRA.....

Let's see 4,000 season ticket holders plus a 1,000 students and VIP people = 5,000. Leaving 1800 seats for all of those other Chicago area fans that Chicago's Big Ten Team is trying to attract. Good planning?

If there is a price of $1,000 upfront for a season ticket then they will be lucky to have 4,000 spoken for. There are less than 3,000 season ticket accounts.
And with no additional fan base, there may be alot of empty seats if fans have to pay more than $30 for single game tickets.

I dont believe there is any evidence to suggest that there will be 4,000 seats sold through season tickets if there is a 1,000 yearly price plus the ticket cost. My guess would be no more than 1,500 seats sold. Same thing happened with the parking lots. Phillips thought there would be great demand after the first bowl win but very few bit on a $600 contribution. The west lot is now only half full.

They're going to lose a lot of people with the $1k per year fee per ticket. That takes a $300'season ticket to $1300. Assume 15 games for easy math. That takes a "ticket price per game" number from $20 to $86.

Seriously?

Im not the one who claimed such a ridiculous figure. My opinion is that $1,000 is fake news because NU doesnt have the type of fan base to warrent such a high figure. Suckers would spend more than $350 a seat...other than diehards. Maybe the $1,000 are for courtsides or seats in the first few rows.

Some people are getting a little carried away here. Remember this quote from the OP (emphasis mine):

"Each section will have a required nominal donation to the wildcat fund to buy tix in that section. It could be 1000 dollars. Could be more in others. Less in others."

I've heard there will also be sections that do not require a donation. So there are going to be a variety of pricing options. If NU can find enough people to give four-figure donations for courtside/club seats then they absolutely should price them that way. I won't be in those sections, but I'm confident I'll have good seats anyway. It's only a 6,800 person arena, every seat will be a good one.
