Well, after a slow start that saw Northwestern miss its first 7 shots, the Cats just flat-out dominated the Hoosiers. After trailing 10-1, they hit 13 of 23 from the floor and outscored IU 34-13. They had a 20-2 run in the middle of it fueled by 5 or 6 IU turnovers and some big dunks --Lumpkin's on the fast break and Benson's two-handed gorilla jam stood out. Indiana has 10 turnovers to 2 for NU at the half.

I've been to a lot of games, and this is the loudest I've heard it in here. There's a lot of IU fans in the building, but the students are just "lit," as they like to say. There were definitely some dangerous decibel levels in that first half.

And how about Barret Benson tonight? He played 10 minutes and had by far his best half of the season. His 4 points, 1 rebound and 1 assist don't sound like much, but he drew a charge, played some tough defense, and even had a nice assist that led to a Law 3. He gave Pardon a BIG rest in the first half.

From end of 1st half thread...

The 2nd half is gonna define the character of the 2017 'Cats b-ball team. In past seasons, when holding a 12 pt lead heading into the intermission, Carmody teams would play not to lose and keep their shots relegated to backdoor cuts and deperation jumpers as shot clock neared expiration. This season, Collins will set the current 'Cats to play the aggressive transition game and take the game straight into the grill of Crean's Who-ZIts with balls-out drives thru the lane & to the hole and either take the chippie layup among the trees or pass to the open man on the perimeter for the long-distance jumper. In 2017, the 'Cats have the personnel to knock down those jumpers on a regular basis. I'm LOVING THIS TEAM & COACH.

GO 'Cats!!!

BMac on track for double double.

Bad news, Tap on crutches.

Sorry about Tap, but everything else is encouraging. May the force (d turnovers) be with you Cats.

We are going to run out of bodies. Tap is now out for who knows how long. Lindsay is obviously not himself. Uggh.

They said that Tap rolled his ankle so hopefully not too serious.

Down 3 forwards now and Lindsey's back seems to be still troubling him.

Time for Skelly and Brown to chip in...

Gotta get Scottie going. He's money when he takes it to the rim.
