Northwestern had an 11-point lead with 3:55 left in the half, but Michigan went on a 12-3 run to close the gap to 30-28.

The Cats are shooting the ball better than they have in some time: 52 percent. However, they also have 10 turnovers, matching their average for a full game. NU is up 16-8 on points in the paint as BMac penetrated well, and Benson and Skelly have 4 points each. Law leads NU with 7 points, while BMac has 6. They've got to get Law more shots -- he's 3-3 from the floor, including a 3, but went more than 16 minutes without a shot.

If NU does a better job taking care of the ball, they'll be in good shape. Michigan is up 6-0 on fast break points, and they missed a couple easy ones, too.

Robinson leads Michigan with 8 points, while seven Wolverines have between 2 and 4.

It's a tight-fisted war out there, though, and the intense effort produced some occasionally ragged play. The two teams combined for 21 baskets and 17 turnovers in the first half.

Those were two stupidly ridiculous shots. Don't you do it!

What was that ruling for giving it back to MI? Pumpkin got the rebound.

Dumbass refs called 2 shots, no one went for the rebound. They messed up but then made the right call to call a jump ball

That was just weird. The ref called the foul on BMac on the floor and clearly waved the shot off. Announced a 1 &1 and then ...

These all-Mac-clock-rundown possessions are as maddening as any Carmody-era offense.

How many times do you need to see that he doesn't have the athleticism that, say, the guys you are playing against *right now* have in the same situation?
