Second Half Thread vs MSU

1-8 to start the second half. Still up 53-34.

The lead is down to 15. We're not getting the bounces this half.

Sparty making a run, Cats need to get a basket here, too many balls going in and out this half.

MSU really stepping it up on the defensive end. Hard to do this with Pardon out, but would like to set up in the post a little more. Not getting much going right now.

Thanks for starting the thread. I was too giddy from that first half to think about it.

NU has missed nine straight shots, MSU has closed to within 15, and Pardon and Skelly have four fouls each. NU badly needs a bucket. The MSU fans are roaring right now.

Fortunately, Benson has played pretty well on the defensive end. Might need to see a little more of Brown to get the offense moving.

such bullshit. refs call a tight game when we only have 8 players. Taking Pardon out and completely hamstringing us. Ridiculous...

Yikes. The lead down to 7. Brown did not play well.

Benson is getting boxed out on both ends, and the guards have missed at least two dishes inside to him. Need to get a basket.

Well... we all knew this was coming. Wasn't sure it would happen this fast though. And a little diversity and there go Lindsay and Law moping and whining again. Those two need to grow the f up and finish this game.

Vic is forcing it. Hasn't scored yet this half.

These refs aren't helping. Wer're getting hit on every shot with no call.

Now that the game is tied, the refs have begun calling fouls on Sparty again. That’s nice.

I haven't seen too many questionable fouls. Cats needed to play like the only had 40 fouls to give from the beginning of the game and Skelly and Benson in particular did not do that.

The future is still bright for Northwestern, but this season has to be one of the worst coaching jobs I've ever seen.

You're blaming this on Collins!? Worst coaching job you've ever seen? What the hell is wrong with you?

Bogus charge call on Law. It seems our best chance on offense is to pound it down low to Pardon.

I don’t understand our offense. Shot clock winding down and no one is moving to try to create an opportunity. Law has to try to drive and force a bad shot and no one is there to rebound. ???

This was the best half I’ve ever seen followed by the worst half I’ve ever seen. 4 points in 15 minutes?

Are you out of your mind. CC has nothing to do with it. Look at the shooting percentage you fool.

Coaching has nothing to do with shooting percentages! Or defensive efficiency! Or free-throw shooting! Or rebounding! After all, the coaches aren't out there missing shots or not playing defense or not boxing out!

You're loving this collapse, aren't you! ;)

Seems like we were a little careless on fouls in the first half which got us into trouble in the second half. When we had such a big lead I wondered why our guys were being so reachy and giving up cheap fouls.

A team reflects their coach. Collins whines and moans when things get tough and his team copies him. Where is the toughness??

To be fair, some of the fouls called on Bridges were pretty questionable too.

Anytime you have only 8 scholarship players, those extremely questionable calls (especially regarding Pardon, our most important player by far) are simply killers.
