Fitz did an ESPN car wash the other day. A car wash is when you go through all the ESPN shows and do an interview with a lot of people. In one of the interviews, Fitz stated that Shuler was going to move to the outside to take the top off the defense. I get the idea of playing Shuler there to run off the CB and FS to create a 1 man guarding 2 scenario underneath, but I have a lot of question on Shuler's hands. There were big questions about that coming out of Rutgers and everything I've seen at NU keeps those questions alive. As such, is Shuler going to take a CB and FS with him or is a CB going to stay man up on him and risk the deep play?
Wouldn't Shuler be better served on the inside where he can catch shorter passes like bubble screens and then use his speed and quickness to make a play. Additionally as a HS QB, I'd expect that Shuler knows how to read a defense. As such, I'd expect him to better at type of WR option plays that Ebert was incredibly successful at.
Can't say I like this move.
