Since there have been so many comparisons to ‘95 football:

Last night’s game left my stomach feeling like the Miami game. When the Cats built the lead and seemingly had the game under control, I mentally put it in the win column and imagined the media stories confirming how good the Cats are. Like Miami in ‘95, the Illini caught fire in the last quarter and the defense broke down, I got a knot in my stomach. Boo’s stumble triggered the bad snap trauma of 28 years ago.

Here’s hoping they bounce back and beat Maryland Sunday.

But the Miami game happened early in the season.

Big Ten road games are tough and the home team can get hot. Compare Iowa home vs. away.

But the Miami and Illinois games were the first times the teams played ranked and in national spotlight.

After 28 games, I doubt Thursday night represents an inflection point. We lost a close game to a tough opponent. Really isn’t much more than that.
On the road.

But, scarred that I am, I worry that they will play ONLY tough opponents going forward a d I dread the losing streak

Hope they take some lessons from it. The strategy to start the 2nd half was too predictable for me. Would of liked to see Boo or Chase drive and kick it out to the corner a bit more instead of going for a low percentage layup. Didn't seem like they were even looking for MN in the post either... couldn't of hurt to mix it up a bit more.
